Cusco-San Pedro Market

This is my quick intro to Cusco and I'll just focus on the San Pedro market near our (very nice) hostel.  It was basIcally our IntroductIon to cusco. I think this is where Anthony bourdain was. It is crazy! In a good way! They have all goods and foods. And I mean all....check the pics. And half the area is for food. You sit tight with the locals and villagers (way more authentic here than lima) on benches and for under 2 bucks get huge meals. We had a really good chicken noodle type soup followed by fried fish, creamy potatoes, rice and slaw. Hit the spot. At dinner we found this artsy spot with the clay oven inside (kinda smoky but warm...it was cold and rainy outside). Very nice!

Cusco is very unique. Small cobble alley ways. Big old cathedrals. Inca and ccolonial history blends everywhere. The am altitude is a little rough (11000 feet). Easy to get out of breath and develop headache if not full and hydrated. I bought coca leaves to chew. They help a fair bit.

A quick forward note: Kelly and I failed miserably at the pisac market today.....email us specifics on what you want. We were paralyzed by the amount of vendors and things.
